
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") outline the conditions under which we provide our refurbishment, decorating, and maintenance services. By hiring our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. Services
MK Decorating offers professional refurbishment, decorating, and property maintenance services, including but not limited to:
Interior & exterior painting
Plastering & wall repairs
Full & partial refurbishments
Property maintenance
Exterior work & restoration
Our services are provided based on the agreed scope of work outlined in an estimate or contract.
2. Estimates & Pricing
All estimates are free and valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
Following the 30 days, a new estimate may be issued which may be subject to additional charges.
Prices are based on the scope of work discussed and may be subject to adjustments if additional work is required.
Any changes to the project scope must be agreed upon in writing and may result in additional charges.
3. Payments
A deposit may be required before work begins. This will be outlined in your quotation.
Payments are to be made in accordance with the agreed schedule (e.g., instalments or upon project completion).
Full payment is due within 14 days of project completion unless otherwise agreed.
Late payments may incur additional fees.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients must provide clear access to the property for MK Decorating to complete the work.
Any necessary permits or approvals (e.g., for structural changes) are the client’s responsibility unless agreed beforehand in writing.
Clients must inform us of any existing issues (e.g., damp, structural damage) that could affect the work otherwise additional charges may be applied.
5. Work Schedule & Delays
MK Decorating will make every effort to complete projects within the agreed timeframe.
Delays caused by unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, material shortages, client-requested changes) may impact project completion dates.
Any changes to the schedule will be communicated promptly.
6. Materials & Warranty
MK Decorating uses high-quality materials and workmanship to ensure durability.
If materials are supplied by the client, MK Decorating is not responsible for their quality or performance.
Workmanship is guaranteed for 5 years unless otherwise agreed per job, excluding damage caused by external factors (e.g., water leaks, accidents).
7. Cancellations & Refunds
Clients may cancel a project before work begins; however, deposits may be non-refundable depending on expenses incurred.
If work has already started, cancellation fees may apply based on completed work and materials purchased.
MK Decorating reserves the right to cancel a project due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., unsafe working conditions). Any prepaid amounts will be refunded minus work already completed.
8. Liability & Damage
MK Decorating will take all reasonable precautions to protect client property during work.
We are not liable for pre-existing issues, structural failures, or hidden defects that become apparent during the project.
Any accidental damage caused by our team will be assessed and rectified at our discretion.
9. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek resolution through communication and negotiation.
If a resolution cannot be reached, the matter may be referred to mediation or legal proceedings.
10. Privacy & Data Protection
MK Decorating respects client privacy and will not share personal information without consent.
Client details are used only for communication, quotations and invoicing.
11. Amendments to Terms
MK Decorating reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
